Harness the Power of a Dragon
October 22-24, 2021 | Camp Lowden
Fall Camp weekend is open to all Scouts BSA Troops and Venturing Crews (Arrow of Light Scouts may camp as guests of a Troop). Youth compete in a weekend of dragon-themed activities that put their Scout skills and spirit to the test.
Cub Scouts may attend on Saturday, October 23 for a carnival-style day of activities, including a closing campfire program, from 8:15 am - 5:00 pm.
Registration deadline is October 11, 2021
All attendees’ receive a themed Fall Camp Patch and lunch on Saturday
Scouts BSA/Venturing - Youth & Adult: $20/person
Cub Scout - Youth & Adult: $15/person

Example Skills-Based Activities for Scouts BSA/Venturing:
Hammer Throw. The object is to see how far the scout can throw a hammer
Stone Throw. The object is to see how far the scout can throw or shot put a stone
Feed the Dragon (sheave throw). Object is to throw a bag of straw over a bar much like a pole vault using a scoop shovel.
Flip the Dragon (Caber Toss)
Fire sticks (Rifle shooting)
Long Bow (archery). Object to break balloons on a archery target
Lasso the Dragon (rope making)
Catapult/Trebuchet
Light the Dragons fire (fire building)
Save the knight/maiden (First aid)
Example Activities for Cub Scouts:
Archery:

Storm the Castle:
Man the catapult and trebuchet to knock down the castle and free the trapped dragon.
Dragon Launch:
Build your own dragon out of a 2-liter bottle see how high you can make it fly with Camp Lowden’s state of the art dragon launcher.
Highland Games:
Test your clan’s (den’s) strength and skills in a series of athletic feats including the caber toss, stone put, haggis throw, tug of war, and more.
Neckerchief Slide:
Create your very own viking shield slide with your name written in viking runes.
Search for the Dragon's Lair:
Grab your map and compass and help find the secret dragon’s lair at Camp Lowden. Who knows what treasure and adventure it might hold?
