Who’s going to be the first in the Blackhawk Area Council to
Conquer the Swamp!
Blackhawk Area Council is sending a contingent of 22 Scouts and Scouters to the Atchafalaya Swamp Base in Louisiana for a nine day excursion from July18th to July 26th, 2016. We’re looking for Boy Scouts, Venturers, and adult leaders who have nerves of steel to be the first from our Council to explore this new high adventure base.
Travel details are still being finalized, but the cost for the entire trip including Swamp Base Trek fee, transportation, hotels, food, and amenities is targeted at or below $995.
The current plan is to leave the Blackhawk Area Council Program center early on 7/18/16. They will travel via passenger vans to Greneda, MS and spend the night in a hotel. On 7/19 the Crew will travel the rest of the way to Swamp Base to begin the Trek. The process will be reversed on the return trip, with the group leaving Swamp Base on 7/25, traveling to the St.Louis area and spending the night there. They will depart St. Louis on 7/26, and return to the program center in the early afternoon.
