BALOO Training - Practical Component

Attention Cub Scout Leaders:  Your pack can plan outdoor camping activities IF one or more of your leaders are BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) trained! Yes, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos will be able to participate in overnights and pack outdoor camping activities with a BALOO trained leader in attendance!

BALOO offers pack leaders instruction in health and safety, planning guidelines, outdoor activities, outdoor cooking, and campfire programs. Follow the BALOO “plan” and the Cub Scouts in your pack should have a memorable outdoor camping experience!

BALOO training is comprised of two components — an online component and a practical, hands-on component.  Both components must be completed to qualify as a “TRAINED” Cub Scout outdoor leader.

The online component must be completed prior to the practical component.  The online training contains introductory and basic information that will be built upon during the practical training.  The online portion is available through the BSA LearnCenter.  Log onto my.scouting.org and select the BSA LearnCenter image on the right side of the home page.
