It’s time to register for Blackhawk Area Council’s Venturing Blast set for Friday-Sunday, Feb. 24-26, at Camp Lowden near Oregon, IL. It is open to ages 14 and older in all scout groups and units.

This year participants will take part in activities as groups in pistol shooting, crate stacking, tomahawk and knife throwing, giant slingshot, geocaching, snow sculpting, dutch-oven cooking, flag-retirement ceremony and much more. Activities are subject to change based on snow conditions. Other activities include an minute-to-win-it games, evening social, night hike and evening cracker barrel. 

Participants will sleep in heated cabins, so there’s no need to bring a tent! Water is limited, though, so there are no showers.
